Really great food and very friendly service. I've been here a number of times with different people and they've all loved it. You can pretty much get any meal at any level of spicyness that you want it. Really great for me (I love spicy), and also for friends who can't handle it. Prices are decent, menu has any options but not too many.

Excellent meal for lunch today, a first visit made by my son-in-law and me, following several recommendations from work. The restaurant has nice decor, is clean, and provided quick service, good nachos & salsa while we waited, and an outstanding meal. We had lunch combo plates (medium and Hot-Hot) and we were both happy. Prices were reasonable. One of the best Tex-Mex meals I've had in the area! Definitely worth a return and a quick review of the menu shows something for anyone!

This is Mexican food as people in the Mid-West think of Mexican food. Flavorless, unimaginative, and inauthentic. Seriously, for the price you will receive better flavors at a Taco Bell (and that is not intended to be a favorable comparison). This is the kind of Mexican food that used to predominate in Colorado Springs 20-25 years ago and is still frequented by natives and long-time residents who have not caught on to the reality that better, tastier, and more authentic Mexican food now exists in town.

I'm sorry, this food was TERRBILE. I ordered the Chile Relleno plate. Absolutely bland... really? This is mexican food??? No.... I don't think so! No flavor whatsoever. Soooo disappointed and it was a bit pricey in my opinion.

We went twice in a month. The first time out we were greeted by the owner, hugs and kisses (a little uncomfortable for my wife but I thought it was warm and friendly) , the food was good but not great (chips and salsa were disappointing), and the service was solicitous and a little overly patronizing. The second time around was none of that, I had to drain the water off my plate (but they did bring a second plate), and there was very little service (no return visits to check on us), so we find this place hit or miss. Take your chance, but the odds of winning would be better if you bought a year-old lottery ticket.

Food is pretty good! If I had one negative it would be a bigger bowl of chips and salsa before the meal.

I LOVE this place! They have the BEST shredded beef enchiladas that I have ever had. Rice and beans are standard, so I give that an average rating. I live in Atlanta now, but I REALLY wish there was a place here that compares to the flavor and tenderness of their shredded beef. Coloradoans - count yourselves lucky!

Food was average. Salsa was not impressive. I would come back only if someone wanted to come. It wouldn't be my first choice. Hostess (I think possibly owner) was very nice and friendly. Our waitress was not very good.

First Yelp review. Staff was extremely pleasant and warm. Bud lights were cold and fairly priced. Chips and salsa were possibly worse than the sloppy joes I got from my elementary school as a 3rd grader. I am far from a picky eater, but the salsa was not salsa. It was canned tomato sauce. This is no stretch of the truth. Left after we finished our bud lights.

Salsa tastes like canned tomatoe sauce. Service is horrible. Brought our food and that was the last we saw of our server. Had to ask for our check. We was all out of drinks and I couldn't even tell if my enchiladas had any green chile on them. The nachos are a joke. I will not be coming back here.

Having just moved from CA where we had lots if great Mexican food so just maybe my view is off BUT, I have had better food from Taco Bell. Had chicken burrito that was flavorless and boring. Rice and beans were ok. Best part of meal was the chips & dip which also tasted store bought instead of homemade. Will not be returning here unfortunately.

I'm so glad Bean Bandit has opened a new location on North Nevada Ave, just south of Fillmore and next door to the Hogan. The small menu (so far) features the basic Mexican dishes with delicious homemade taste.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
